What Are the Main Types of Distributed Control Systems?
Distributed control system is an important automation control system, which mainly has three types: distributed control system, fieldbus control system and industrial Ethernet control system.
1. Distributed control system (DCS)
Also known as distributed control system, it is a system that distributes control functions to multiple control stations and realizes centralized monitoring and management through communication network. DCS system has high reliability and flexibility, easy to expand and maintain, which is commonly used in large industrial processes to monitor and control the production process in real time.
2. Fieldbus control system (FCS)
The fieldbus control system further decentralizes the control function to the field equipment and realizes data exchange and communication between devices through the fieldbus. This type of system has a simple structure, the design of it has the points of low cost and easy maintenance, and is particularly suitable for small and medium-sized industries with certain cost requirements. At the same time, the FCS system can also realize the intelligence and remote monitoring of equipment.
3. Industrial Ethernet control system (ECS)
The industrial Ethernet control system is a distributed control system based on Ethernet technology. It uses the advantages of high-speed transmission and wide popularity of Ethernet to integrate control data and management data on the same network to realize data sharing and remote access. The ECS system can provide high speed, large capacity and low latency, and makes good contributions to the real-time and data interaction performance of complex industrial processes. Furthermore, it also supports multiple standards and protocols, thus offering good compatibility and scalability.
